Through some good fortune – ours, not yours – you have stumbled across Thoughts of the Human MammalThis is a place where we will explore the breadth of human experience, from deep thinkers and high achievers, to weirdos, battlers, misfits, and outcasts.  We will question people from different backgrounds and professions to better understand how they view themselves and the world around them.

Throughout, we will zoom in on key themes as they arise and elaborate through conversations with contributors, with each other, or with relevant experts. Hopefully, over the course of this project, our views – and yours – are challenged or expanded.

About the authors…

…like you, we’re lots of different things.

Despite a relative disinterest in sport and questionable athleticism, we were fortunate to play professional rugby together in Australia. Since then, our friendship has been built on a mutual love of irony and an overenthusiastic acceptance that we will very soon be dead.

In a lot of ways, this project is an attempt to expand on the themes that have coloured our conversations for the past 10 years. It represents an effort to introduce some of the ideas that have changed our lives for the better to a broader audience.

We hope that you will join us in the conversation.
